Private Practice: I run a private therapy practice in Jesmond, where I offer Psychotherapeutic Counselling in a warm and comfortable setting to both individuals and couples.
NHS Primary & Secondary Care: I have worked for the past 7 years with GP-referred clients in NHS primary and secondary care around Newcastle, South Tyneside and Northumberland. This has given me the opportunity to work with a variety of individuals with minor, to more complex mental health needs. Working within such a service has presented me with a diverse range of people from the local community, with a complex mixture of therapeutic needs.
NHS Mental Health Services: I have been fortunate to gain valuable experience volunteering within mental health wards with individuals managing more severe and sustained mental health difficulties. Such experience of working within these environments has given me good insight and perspective into the psychiatric aspects of my role as a therapist, and my wider role as a member of a team psychological practitioners working with the local community.
Biomedical Sciences Research: Working within the field of biomedical sciences has given me the opportunity to explore and understand the complexity of how the human body functions in health and disease. As well as the academic experience I have gained over the many years of doing this, having expertise and curiosity about the mind and body relationship is immensely beneficial to my work as a psychotherapist. As such, I am drawn to systemic and Gestaltian ideas which consider the mind, body and spiritual experience as 'a whole'.
in Couples Counselling: As part of my continued professional development, I have
enhanced my work as a practitioner with specialised training in couples
counselling. The training explored many approaches to working with
couples (including the Gottman Method and Systemic approaches).
in Psychotherapeutic Counselling: I spent 4 years training at the reputable Northern Guild
for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP & UKCP accredited training institution). The core modality of this training was
Transactional Analysis, although I was exposed to a wide variety of therapeutic
approaches and techniques, with the overriding aim of shaping an integrated approach.

system contribute toward the onset and progression of
chronic kidney disease.
