Transactional Analysis

Transactional Analysis (TA) is a relational model of psychotherapy that explores how we come to think, feel, and relate in the ways that we do. It pays particular attention to the interplay between the self and the environment, recognising how our early experiences shape patterns in communication, behaviour, and emotional response.

By bringing awareness to these patterns, TA creates space for reflection and choice. It supports you in understanding how your internal world has developed in relationship to others, and how you might begin to respond differently, with greater flexibility, clarity, and autonomy.

Internal Family Systems & Parts Work

Internal Family Systems (IFS) and parts work offer a way of understanding the personality as made up of different aspects, or “parts,” each with their own thoughts, feelings, and roles. These parts often develop in response to life experiences, particularly where there has been stress, conflict, or unmet need. Rather than viewing these aspects as problems to be removed, this approach recognises them as meaningful responses that have served a purpose at some point in time.

By developing awareness of these parts and how they interact, space is created for reflection and choice. This can support a clearer understanding of internal conflict, where different parts may be pulling in different directions, and why certain patterns feel difficult to change. Through this process, it becomes possible to relate to these parts differently, with greater understanding and balance, allowing for increased flexibility, clarity, and a more settled way of being.
